The LinkCare Centre for Empowerment and Governance was established as a response to the personal experiences and aspirations of its founder, Charles Mwangi. Growing up in the remote village of Makuyu in a middle-level family, Charles was intimately familiar with the struggles that many underprivileged communities face. Born into a family of seven, he experienced the challenges of poverty firsthand, which profoundly shaped his outlook on life and nurtured a deep-seated desire to support the less fortunate in society.
As Charles pursued his career, he maintained a strong connection to his roots and became increasingly committed to giving back to his community. He dedicated his time and resources to supporting schools in his home area, recognizing education as a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty. His efforts made a tangible impact, reinforcing his belief in the importance of empowering others.
During his banking career, Charles met Joseph Mutema, a like-minded colleague who shared his vision of societal transformation. Together, they envisioned creating a platform that would address the broader issues affecting their communities, not just in education but also in governance and empowerment. They saw the need for an organization that could harness local and international support to bring about sustainable change.
To bring this vision to life, Charles and Joseph partnered with Peggy Macharia, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in various sectors. With their combined expertise and shared commitment, they set out to establish the LinkCare Centre for Empowerment and Governance. The NGO was founded with the mission of transforming society through comprehensive and sustainable community development initiatives, focusing on empowerment and governance.
LinkCare aims to secure both local and international sponsorships to support its programs, which are designed to uplift communities by addressing education, governance, and other critical areas. Through their collaborative efforts, Charles, Joseph, and Peggy have laid a strong foundation for LinkCare, guided by their personal experiences and a shared vision of a better future for all.
